Spartans, what is your profession? Harroh! Harroh! Harroh!

Michigan State played it's first home game of the year today and Stuart got to go. It's his second MSU game, he went to one last year.
We took Ray and Linda to the game. Ray is a big football fan and Linda has never been to a game before. Much to my surprise, Linda declared that she wanted to go to a football game. We were more than happy to take her to her first game.
We enjoyed a breakfast tailgate along the banks of the Red Cedar River. Pancakes, fried mush, applewood smoked bacon, sausages and fresh fruit were on the menu.
We were literally on the banks of the Red Cedar. You can see Spartan Stadium off in the distance. MSU beat Eastern Michigan today 42-10. A good time was had by all.
For some reason Stuart just loved playing with Ray and Curious George. Curious George was tossing the football to him. Stuart was a perfect little boy today, tollerating a very long day (for a baby) and a warm day. All in all, it was a perfect day for football. Well, at least for September football. I freely admit I prefer 45 and rainy for a football game. In any event, we're glad Ray and Linda came with us. Hopefully they can come again sometime.

LOOK OUT, HERE WE COME........God Bless the Irish!

Rally sons of Notre Dame
Sing her glory and sound her fame
Raise her Gold and Blue
And cheer with voices true:
Rah, rah, for Notre Dame
We will fight in every game,
Strong of heart and true to her name
We will ne'er forget her
And will cheer her ever
Loyal to Notre Dame.

Cheer, cheer for Old Notre Dame,
Wake up the echoes cheering her name,
Send a volley cheer on high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky!
What though the odds be great or small,
Old Notre Dame will win over all,
While her loyal sons are marching
Onward to victory

Haven't we beaten ND 6 in row down in South Bend?

possibly, but the one that stands out in my mind is 2006 Notre Dame 40, Michigan State 37! The lesson here is that overconfidence is brutal. Are you guys going to the game? I will find you......following the wonderful aroma of a deep fried turkey! How did Jannna handle Michigan's big loss? Is she "allowed" to be a Michigan fan anymore? :)

That loss in 2006 was the best thing that happened to our program in quite awhile. It enabled us to get rid of John L. Smith and replace him with Mark Dantonio. We're finally beginning to play MSU football again, though it will be another year or two before we're actually able to do something in the Big Ten.

My wife has achieved a complete and full conversion. She is a MSU fan and like me was amused by M's pathetic performance on Saturday.
